Rep. Fedorchak doesn’t believe President Trump should’ve gotten approval from Congress before striking Iran

WASHINGTON – Republican North Dakota Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak doesn’t believe President Donald Trump needed to get the ok from Congress to bomb Iran saying he had the authority to do it.

Fedorchak mentioned the president notified Congress’ Gang of Eight about the strikes beforehand. That’s Senate Majority Leader John Thune, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, Senate Intelligence Committee Chair Senator Tom Cotton, House Intelligence Committee Chair Rep. Rick Crawford, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Senate Intelligence Committee Vice Chair Senator Mark Warner and House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Rep. Jim Himes

“I clearly think it’s pretty ridiculous that some members of Congress like [Democratic Texas Congresswoman] Jasmine Crockett that expected to be notified ahead of time. Hello? How safe would that be? You want our military members in harm’s way with Jasmine Crockett having information that is critical to national security?” Fedorchak said on “What’s On Your Mind?” on The Flag.

Democrats disagree.

“The President—with no authorization from Congress—has gone to war with Iran. Under the U.S. Constitution it is Congress—and not the President—who has the power to declare war,” Democratic Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar wrote on social media.
