On Friday, March 6 the Minnesota Wild have made a trio of trades to help bolster the team’s run to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The first trade was for Minnetonka native, Bobby Brink. The 24-year-old is coming to Minnesota from Philadelphia. The Wild sent defenseman David Jiricek to the Flyers to complete the trade. Brink, a forward, currently has 26 points this season in 55 games on 13 goals and 13 assists. In 201 career games across four seasons, Brink has totaled 94 points on 36 goals and 59 assists.
The second trade featured a similar last name to Wild fans in Foligno… Nick Foligno, the brother of current Wild alternate captain, Marcus Foligno. The trade will send future considerations to be named later to Chicago. Nick Foligno is a 38-year-old, 19-year NHL veteran. He has played in 37 games so far this season totaling three goals and eight assists for 11 points. He currently ranks fifth in the NHL among active skaters with 2,844 career hits.
A third move Minnesota has made today is sending forward Vinnie Hinostroza to the Florida Panthers. In exchange the Wild will receive future considerations from the Panthers.
The Wild will be on the road on Friday night to battle the Golden Knights in Las Vegas. Puck drop is scheduled for 9 p.m. with full game coverage available on FanDuel Sports Network North.
