The National Collegiate Hockey Conference has named University of North Dakota forward, Cole Reschny, the league’s Rookie of the Year for the 2025-26 season. Reschny is the fourth Fighting Hawk to win the award since joining the NCHC and third in the past four seasons joining, Brock Boeser (2015-16), Jackson Blake (2022-23), and Sacha Boisvert (2024-25).
A native of Maklin, Saskatchewan, Reschny led all NCHC rookies in the regular season with 31 points and 26 assists in 30 games. He also added five goals in the regular season. Including postseason play, he has totaled 34 points on 29 assists and five goals.
Reschny leads all NCHC Rookies with 276 face-off wins this season, winning 54.9 percent of his face-offs on the season. He has also tallied a plus-12 rating in the plus/minus rating.
The forward earned the NCHC Forward of the Week honor twice this season along with being named the NCHC Rookie of the Week once this year. He is currently riding an eight game point streak as UND awaits its national tournament fate.
