Clay County Sheriff Mark Empting announces reelection bid

MOORHEAD, Minn. – Clay County Sheriff Mark Empting has announced he’s running for a third term.

“For the past seven years, it has been an honor and a privilege to serve the Clay County community as your Sheriff,” Empting said. “I’m fortunate to work alongside some of the finest men and women in law enforcement, and I remain fully committed to protecting public safety and strengthening the trust between our office and the community we serve.

Empting said he believes effective law enforcement depends on collaboration, transparency and leadership that listens to the needs of the community.

The sheriff also serves as Second Vice President of the Minnesota Sheriff’s Association and Co-Chair of its Legislative Committee.
