The Minnesota Twins dropped their series rubber match to the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 in 10 innings on Sunday afternoon.
Matt Wallner hit a solo home run, his third of the season. The Twins only recorded three hits and stranded four runners on base.
Simeon Woods Richardson gave up one run over 6 ⅔ innings of work in a no-decision. Kody Funderburk recorded one out while Cole Sands tossed two scoreless innings in relief. Justin Topa surrendered two earned runs over ⅓ of an inning and was tagged with the loss. Taylor Rogers recorded a pair of outs.
Minnesota dropped to 3-6 on the season.
The Twins will now welcome the Detroit Tigers to Target Field for a four game series beginning on Monday night with the first pitch scheduled for 6:40 p.m. and game coverage available at Twins.TV. Joe Ryan is scheduled to be on the mound for Minnesota while Casey Mize counters for Detroit.
