Twins hit three home runs in shutout win over Red Sox

The Minnesota Twins defeated the Boston Red Sox 6-0 on Tuesday evening. This was the first time the Twins shutout an opponent in the 2026 season.

Mick Abel was outstanding on the mound tossing seven scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts, earning his first win of the season. Taylor Rogers and Cole Sands each threw a shutout inning in relief.

Byron Buxton hit a pair of solo home runs, the 18th multi home run game of his career. Brooks Lee added a solo home run. Trevor Larnach added two RBI while Luke Keaschall chipped in an RBI in the game.

Minnesota improved to 11-7 on the season.

The Twins and Red Sox will wrap up their series on Wednesday afternoon with the first pitch scheduled for 12:40 p.m. and game coverage available on Twins.TV. Simeon Woods Richardson will be on the mound for Minnesota while Connelly Early counters for Boston.
