Wolves take down Nuggets in Game 6; advance to Western Conference Semifinals

The short-handed Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Denver Nuggets 110-98 in Game 6 of their Western Conference Quarterfinals series on Thursday evening. The Wolves won the series 4-2, advancing to the Western Conference Semifinals for the third consecutive season.

Minnesota was without Anthony Edwards, Donte DiVincenzo, Ayo Dosunmu, and Kyle Anderson who are all battling injuries. The Wolves became the first team in NBA history to win a playoff game while missing three double digit scorers (Dosunmu 21-8 PPG in series, Edwards 18.5, DiVincenzo 10.8).

Jaden McDaniels led Minnesota with a career-high 32 points along with 10 rebounds. Terrance Shannon Jr. added 24 points, six rebounds, and two steals in his first career postseason start. Julius Randle chipped in 18 points, five assists, and four rebounds. Naz Reid tallied 15 points, seven rebounds, and four assists off the bench. Rudy Gobert dropped 10 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists.

The Wolves only committed seven turnovers while forcing 13 turnovers. Minnesota also out-rebounded Denver 50-33.

The Pack will now square off with the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Semifinals with Game One on Monday night.
