On Thursday, May 14 the Minnesota Twins made multiple roster moves prior to their Thursday afternoon series finale against the Miami Marlins.
The Twins are sending outfielder Matt Wallner, a Forest Lake, Minn. native, along with pitcher Travis Adams down to Triple-A St. Paul. To complete the move, Minnesota is promoting right-handed pitcher Zebby Matthews along with utility man Ryan Kreidler.
Wallner hit 22 home runs over 104 games in 2025, but has struggled with strikeouts at the big league level. So far in 2026 the 28-year-old has struck out in 37.4 percent of his at-bats, the third-highest of any MLB batter with at least 100 plate appearances this season.
Matthews is scheduled to start on the mound Thursday afternoon against the Marlins. Rookie starter Connor Prielipp was originally scheduled to start, but has been pushed back a day to the series opener against Milwaukee on Friday night.
The Twins and Marlins will square off in their series rubber match on Thursday beginning at 12:40 p.m. with full game coverage available on Twins.TV.
