(Grand Forks, ND) — Grand Forks Public Health is opening a medical disposal drop-off site.
The service is meant for needles and other hazardous medical waste that can’t be thrown away with normal trash. The sharps must be in a plastic container in quart or gallon sizes. The goal of the operation is to reduce the spread of hepatitis throughout the community. The new 24-hour site is located at the Withdrawal Management Center off South Fourth Street.
It will replace the Altru Hospital Center, which is currently under construction.
