Number of producing oil wells in North Dakota reaches all-time high

(Fargo, ND) — The latest preliminary data released by the North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources shows an all-time high for the number of producing wells in May.

The state had 19-thousand-79 producing wells in May compared to 18-thousand-972 wells in April.

The state produced just under 1.2 million barrels of oil a day in May.

That was less than April’s 1.24-million barrels a day.
