MN Attorney General Ellison asks court to review open carry decision

(Undated) — Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison is seeking a re-hearing from a federal appeals court regarding the court’s decision to allow 18 to 20-year-olds to openly carry firearms.

Ellison is requesting the entire Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals reconsider the ruling made by a three-judge panel.

The attorney general argues that public safety would benefit from banning open carry for this age group.

The case has sparked debate over gun laws and public safety in Minnesota.
