(BISMARCK) – A summit focused on attracting and retaining global talent in North Dakota was held today. The Global Talent Summit, attended by key government individuals, industry leaders and immigration experts, was a groundbreaking summit underscoring the critical role of foreign workers in bolstering North Dakota’s workforce.
North Dakota Lieutenant Governor Tammy Miller and Congressman Kelly Armstrong both emphasized North Dakota’s commitment to creating a welcoming environment for international talent. The event featured in-depth discussions on topics ranging from visa pathways and recruitment strategies to workforce development and integration.
Katie Ralston Howe, North Dakota Commerce Workforce Development Director, told those gathered that North Dakota being open to business includes welcoming individuals from around the world who ‘bring unique skills and perspectives.’
Krista Tacey, regional representative for the CIS Ombudsman at the Department of Homeland Security, provided insights into visa processing and application procedures.
Other speakers included USAID Contractor and Senior Technical Advisor, Bill Carlson, and U.S. Director of Talent Beyond Boundaries, Betsy Fisher.
