(FARGO, ND) – Despite a slow start and 14-point deficit with 10 minutes to go in the first half, the NDSU football team roared back and flew past Abilene Christian Saturday afternoon 51-31 in the second round of the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision playoffs at Gate City Bank Field at the FargoDome.
Down 17-3 with 10:35 to go in the first half, Jackson Williams returned a kickoff for 35 yards to pull the Bison to within a touchdown. The touchdown was the first of four straight scores for NDSU, which saw the Bison take full control at 34-17 with six minutes to go in the third quarter.
CharMar Brown led the Bison rushing with 58 yards on 16 carries.
Cam Miller went 20-of-29 passing for 274 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.
Bryce Lance was the leading receiver, with five receptions totaling 70 yards with one touchdown.
Griffin Crosa was perfect on the day, going three-for-three on field goals, including his longest of the game being from 37 yards out.
Enock Sibomana led the Bison defensive attack with 10 tackles.
NDSU advances to the FCS quarterfinals for the 15th consecutive year, where they’ll take on Mercer State next week.
