(Fargo, ND) -- We've received some clarity on what exactly 'vaccination-only' showings mean for the West Acres Mall Marcus Theaters, which begin Friday.

Senior Vice President of Business Development Clint Wisialowski told WDAY Midday that the whole point of the 'option' is to entice more people in the Fargo-Moorhead area to come out to the theater.

"At Marcus Theaters, we're all about choices," said Wisialowski. "This gives people a true choice when it comes to the movie-viewing experience." The measure, which is now being implemented at 26 of the 85 Marcus Theaters locations across the country, requires patrons of a certain showing to show proof of their COVID-19 vaccinations, be it either the original card or a photo of the vaccination card presented with a picture ID.

Currently, only two showings a day will be 'vaccination-only' entry, but are their plans to expand the policy? Clint says it's not likely.

"We have no plans to expand this to more theaters in any given building, or more shows," said Wisialowski. "The whole point of this is to give a choice, and this does that fairly well. If it ends up being a problem, we can always look it over again too."

As far as getting the program into all their locations, Wisialowski wasn't sure, seeing as how this is the first mini expansion of it throughout a few more theaters.
