ND House Rejects Bill Allowing Local Party Affiliation Declaration

(Bismarck, ND)  --  The North Dakota House is rejecting a bill that would have allowed candidates for non-judicial offices to declare a party on the ballot.  Supporters say it would have increased transparency and an understanding of the candidates.  The bill met heavy opposition from those who said it would have made local politics divisive.  A similar bill was rejected last session.
