Coronavirus Tracker: Over a Thousand New Cases, 19 Deaths Reported by Minnesota Health Officials

(St. Paul, MN) -- Coronavirus numbers remained steady as of Friday in the state of Minnesota.

The state department of health reported an additional 1,058 cases over the past 24 hours, four of which were in Clay County.

19 new deaths were also reported.

The good news is that vaccinations also continue to rise at a steady pace. The health department says over 617,896 Minnesotans have gotten at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 189,902 have gotten both doses.

This coming on the heels of Governor Tim Walz announcing that he is loosening restrictions statewide. Capacity limits on restaurants, gyms, pools, indoor entertainment spaces and private events and celebrations will increase beginning Saturday at noon.
