Applications Being Accepted for Moorhead Ward 2 City Council Seat

(Moorhead, MN) -- If you live in Moorhead and want to make a difference in public office, there may just be an opening for you.

The city is welcoming applications for appointment to the City Council, representing Ward 2. This seat became available when the City Council elected Shelly Carlson to be Moorhead’s mayor on February 8th, following the resignation of Johnathon Judd.

Applications are available online by clicking here, or by contacting the City Clerk’s Office at (218) 299-5304. Applicants must be current residents of Ward 2.

The deadline to submit an application to the City via email is March 31st, 2021. City Council will then review applications and appoint the next Ward 2 Council member, who will carry a term from May 10th through December 31st, 2022. The apointee can o course run for re-election in the November 2022 city election.
