North Dakota Is 2021’s 6th Best State for Jobs

(Fargo, ND) -- As the economy slowly rebounding from the COVID-19 pandemic, North Dakota is moving to the forefront when it comes to jobs.

With the economy gaining 559,000 jobs in May, picking up steam after last month’s disappointing numbers, personal-finance website WalletHub Wednesday released its report on 2021’s Best & Worst States for Jobs, with North Dakota ranking 6th overall.

WalletHub compared the 50 states across 35 key indicators of job-market strength, opportunity and economic vitality. The data set ranges from employment growth to median annual income to average commute time.

Some of the key stats where the state finished favorably include:

17th – Job Opportunities

25th – Employment Growth

14th – Monthly Average Starting Salary

17th – Unemployment Rate

24th – Median Annual Income (Adjusted for Cost of Living)

2nd – Avg. Commute Time (in Minutes)

3rd – Job Satisfaction
