I-94 Crash Leads to Major Traffic Backup Wednesday Evening

(Fargo, ND) -- A crash causing a serious backup in Fargo Wednesday night.

The State Highway Patrol says a 2012 Ford Edge driven by 34-year-old Vanessa Vondall was headed northbound on Interstate 29 and took the loop ramp to go westbound on Interstate 94. That's when a Ford F-350 pulling a flatbed trailer headed westbound on Interstate 94 was struck by Vondall. Due to construction, westbound lanes are reduced to two lanes.

She was tested for impairment and charged with driving under the influence of drugs. Vondall, her 17-year-old passenger and the driver of the truck were all uninjured.

During the crash investigation, one lane of westbound Interstate 94 was blocked due to the disabled vehicle, causing heavy traffic congestion.

This incident remains under investigation by the NDHP.
