(Fargo, ND) -- Starting Wednesday, June 16th, the intersection of University Drive and 36th Avenue South will close. The closure is a part of phase two of the University Drive North construction project.
During this phase, University Drive will be closed to through traffic from 32nd to 40th Avenue North. Local access will be maintained from the south.
The new detour is 32nd Avenue North to Broadway around to 10th Street North and then to 40th Avenue North. This is the last phase and is expected to be in place until mid-September. The purpose of this project is to reconstruct University Drive between 32nd Avenue North and 40th Avenue North from a two-lane rural roadway to a two-lane urban concrete street, including curb and gutter.
Improvements are not limited to, but will also include new storm sewer, street lighting, and a shared use path along the west side of University Drive.
The entire project is expected to be completed by mid-September.
