(Fargo, ND) -- With 1 in 4 essential workers having been diagnosed with a mental health disorder since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the personal-finance website WalletHub Monday released its report on 2021's Most & Least Stressed Cities in America.
In order to determine where Americans cope best with their stress, WalletHub compared more than 180 cities across 41 key metrics. The data set ranges from COVID-19 cases to average weekly work hours to divorce and suicide rates.
Fargo's rankings in major categories include (1st=Most Stressed, 91st=Average, 182nd=Least Stressed):
- 119th – Avg. Weekly Hours Worked
- 52nd – Traffic Congestion
- 131st – Poverty Rate
- 167th – Divorce Rate
- 138th – % of Adults in Fair/Poor Health
- 37th – Job Security
- 168th – % of Adults with Inadequate Sleep
- 160th – Average Daily COVID-19 Cases in the Past Week per Capita
- 100th – % of Residents Who Are Fully Vaccinated
The top five least stressed cities according to Wallethub are South Burlington, Vermont, Fremont, California, Madison, Wisconsin, Nashua, New Hampshire and Columbia, Maryland.
The top five most stressed cities are Cleveland, Detroit, New Orleans, Baltimore and Newark, New Jersey.
