UPDATE (1:33pm): At 12:46PM MPS had a widespread outage affecting 17,172 customers. The cause of the outage was a relay failure on the 115kV transmission line. Crews worked quickly & safely as possible to restore power by 1:02PM.
UPDATE: MPS has restored service to most during outage. Still working on a cause.

(Moorhead, MN) -- Moorhead Public Service has put out a warning about a widespread outage in the area.
MPS does say crews have been dispatched and are troubleshooting the cause.
