Recently released 2020 US Census numbers show Moorhead grew from 38,065 residents in 2010 to 44,505 in 2020. Moorhead is a Rising Metro, and the Census documents the growth that is part of that. Moorhead's growth rate is the highest in Minnesota outside of the 7-county Twin Cities metro area. The 2020 US Census was very challenging because the count occurred during a pandemic and Census takers couldn't go door to door as usual for nearly four months. Moorhead's results show strong community spirit and networking about the importance of everyone complete their Census forms.
