NDSU Extension to Hold Parenting Events

(Fargo, ND) -- The North Dakota State University Extension will be hosting the Power of Predictability: Enhancing Family Well-being Through Routine and Play, a parent night and professional workshop September 28th and 29th at the Holiday Inn in Fargo.

The free parent night will be held September 28th from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with refreshments served at 6:30 p.m. Participants will engage in a community conversation about what good-enough parents know and receive tips on raising happy, healthy kids.

The professional workshop will run from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. September 29th. Topics that will be covered are well-being and the factors that tip the balance of well-being, trauma, building well-being in families, and practitioner well-being.

Registration is required for both events.

The cost of the workshop is $50 if paid by September 10th and $60 after that. The registration deadline is September 20th.

Katy Smith will be the keynote speaker. She is an educator, trainer and valued resource for parents and educators. She has spent her career engaging communities in transformative conversations. Smith is the 2011 Minnesota teacher of the year, the first early childhood teacher in Minnesota and the first parent educator nationally to be honored with a teacher of the year award.
