NDSU to Pay Students to Get COVID Vaccine

(Fargo, ND) -- NDSU is headed to another level when it comes to getting it's students vaccinated.

President Dean Breciani said via a statement to students Thursday that the college will give students $100 if they get a coronavirus vaccine. The only exceptions are benefited employees or collaborative students whose home campus is not NDSU. Every other student who gets a vaccine by October 15th will receive $100.

“I have repeatedly indicated that the best way to reduce the impact of COVID-19 and the delta variant to our community is to have as many people vaccinated as possible,” said Breciani. “This incentive is designed to do just that.”

The money to pay for the vaccinations will come from the federal Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund. NDSU will offer several vaccine clinics at several locations starting Friday.

The announcement comes as students begin to make their way back to NDSU, as classes begin Monday.
