Evening Fire Sends Man To Hospital, Kills Dog

(Fargo, ND) -- A house fire just off Main street near Mac's Hardware leaves a concerned neighbor injured and killed the homeowner's dog.

Jason Ness, Fargo Fire Battalion Chief, says the neighbor, who's name is still unknown at this time, ran into the home to check for the homeowners. Firefighters ended the blaze quickly and took the neighbor to an undisclosed local hospital for minor smoke inhalation.

Firefighters attempted to resuscitate a dog found inside the home but were unsuccessful.

An investigation by Fargo Fire is underway as to the cause of the blaze.
