Local Healthcare Provider in Serious Need as COVID Cases Spike

(Fargo, ND) -- One of the area's leaders in Healthcare says trends for COVID-19 are not looking very good for the immediate future.

Sanford Health has said hospitals in Fargo alone could use up to 300 more nurses to handle an uptick in COVID-19 cases. To this point, Sanford has brought in about 150 travelling or contract nurses from other areas to assist, while also offering increased wages, sign-on bonuses and other perks to attract more workers to the area.

The healthcare provider says it's the most dire staffing situation they may have ever faced, and that hospitalization peaks could still be weeks away.
