Voters in Grand Forks Approve Increased Funding for Schools

(Grand Forks, ND) -- Voters in the Grand Forks School District have decided to allow the school district to increase its building fund levy from 10 mills to 20 mills. The decision comes as a result of a special election held Tuesday in Grand Forks.

The question needed 60 percent to pass, and garnered a 65.9 percent approval of the nearly 4,200 people who cast their ballot.

The vote will become final at a meeting of the school board on October 11th, where the board will canvass the results.
