Update: Situation involving threat made to area schools resolved

UPDATE: The Detroit Lakes Police Department has announced via it's Facebook page that the threat announced from Monday evening posted by students on social media have been sought out and resolved. 

The department says the responsible individuals have been caught and dealt with in a timely manner, and that the threat to area schools appears to be over. This as multiple school districts across the Red River Valley had increased police presence after threats of 'shooting up the high school' made the rounds through Tuesday morning.

(Fargo, ND) -- After an alert initially put out by the Detroit Lakes Police Department, multiple school districts are now on watch after a threat was reportedly made online.

Multiple parents in the Fargo School District have reached out to WDAY Radio, stating there is concern that a student posted the message "someone's going to shoot up the high school" on social media Monday evening. This has led to increased security presence in multiple districts across the area, and even Detroit Lake's School district to have closed campus lunch.
