(Fargo, ND) -- The City of Fargo is now accepting statements of interest to volunteer on the Election & Governance Task Force.

The Task Force is intended to review local governance topics such as commission versus council form of government; ward systems; the number of commissioners; term limits and related topics. Statements of interest will be accepted through November 24th and the Task Force will begin meeting in January of 2022. The Task Force is expected to meet twice monthly and conclude its work by the end of April 2022.

“Submitting a statement of interest form for the Election & Governance Task Force is an excellent way for residents to show they want to be involved in their local government and the decision-making which affects every member of the community. This is an important opportunity for citizens to serve their community,” said Assistant City Administrator Michael Redlinger.

The makeup of the resident-focused Task Force is intended to be representative of the diversity of demographics, backgrounds and experiences of the Fargo community’s civically-engaged residents.
