Car fire causes "explosions" and damages garage in Dilworth

(Dilworth, MN) -- Fire crews responded to a car fire Tuesday afternoon at an apartment complex in Dilworth.

The fire was reported just after 1:30 at the Villa Apartments in the 200 bock of 5th St. NW.  Witnesses tell WDAY Radio they heard "explosions" coming from the burning car. The fire spread to a garage nearby and caused significant damage to parking stalls.  No injuries were reported.

Clay County Sheriff Mark Empting said there are no immediate indications on what caused the fire, which remains under investigation.
