Fargo Police Department accepting applications for 2022 police academy

(Fargo, ND) -- The Fargo Police Department has begun accepting applications for the 2022 Fargo Police Academy Monday.

The Academy provides Peace Officer Training, certified by the North Dakota Peace Officer Standards and Training Board through a 14-week course. Individuals selected to participate in the Fargo Police Academy are considered unpaid interns of the Fargo Police Department. Upon successful completion, individuals are eligible for hire as a licensed peace officer by the Fargo Police Department and throughout the state of North Dakota. This will be the Department’s third academy. The Department has hired 20 officers from the past two academies, and will look to fulfill 2022 vacancies with qualified Academy graduates.

The Academy also provides the Fargo Police Department with the advantage of immersing potential Fargo Police recruits in the culture, philosophy, and Vision, Mission, and Values of the Department prior to entering the Field Training Program,” says Fargo Police Chief David Zibolski.
