(Casselton, ND) -- Prosecutors say no charges will be filed against 53-year-old Edwin Charles Kester Jr. who shot and killed a home invader on October 18th, 2021. Officials say they cannot prove beyond reasonable doubt that Kester. Jr wasn't acting in self defense of both himself and the defense of a woman he was temporarily staying with.
The incident started on October 14th, 2021 when 58-year-old Randell Burton broke through two locked doors around 2 a.m, then charged to a woman's room. That is when Kester Jr., the woman's friend, fired at Burton.
