(Fargo, ND) -- Christmas trees are becoming an endangered species across much of North Dakota.

Vendors say part of the problem is increased shipping costs due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic.

In Fargo, the owners of Baker Garden and Gift say the shortage is causing prices to rise by as much as four bucks per tree.

In addition, trees that are eight to ten feet tall are likely to go at more than the usual premium this year.
