(Fargo, ND) -- Mayors from five metro area cities spoke Thursday providing updates on the state of their cities.

"The biggest message is that Moorhead is on fire.  We are open for business.  We are getting a lot of new development happening in our community and our community is one that is very citizen involved," said Moorhead Mayor Shelly Carlson.

Carlson was among four other mayors from Fargo, West Fargo, Horace and Dilworth who spoke at the event in Fargo.  It was put on by the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce.   Last year's "State of the Cities" was put on virtually.  This year more than 650 people turned out to hear progress reports from the elected leaders. The mayors spoke on topics including infrastructure, creating community, and the use of stimulus dollars.
