Lexington, Minnesota declared "Health Freedom Sanctuary City"

(Lexington, MN) -- The Minneapolis suburb of Lexington has become the first "Health Freedom Sanctuary City".

"If an individual business owner chooses to have their own protocol policy that is up to them under the constitution.  That is their right.  But here in the City of Lexington, we are standing up to government mandates," said Lexington Mayor Mike Murphy.

Murphy and the rest of the city council last week voted unanimously to approve the declaration.  The move means the city opposes any governmental mandated restrictions and requirements on citizens to show proof of vaccination in order to enter businesses, participate in community events, or enter houses of worship. Murphy, who is also a Republican candidate for Governor is an outspoken critic of Governor Tim Walz's response to Covid-19.
