Fargo man sentenced for shooting that injured six-year-old

(Fargo, ND) -- A Fargo man has been sentenced in a shooting that seriously injured a young West Fargo boy who was hit by a stray bullet that entered his house.

20-year-old CJ Jesse James Carruthers was sentenced to 10-year in federal prison. He was also given three-years of supervised release and was ordered to pay more than $62,000 restitution.  

Last March, Carruthers fired a shot while robbing an alleged drug dealer when one of bullets traveled through the wall of a nearby home and hit a six-year old boy was who was lying in his bed. The boy suffered extensive injuries.
