Democrat challenger Katrina Christiansen: North Dakota Senator John Hoeven "too focused on special interests"

(Fargo, ND) -- The first democrat to announce her campaign for the U.S. Senate Seat held by John Hoeven says the senator is "too focused on special interests".

"I think big ag in particular.  When I say special interests, you look at his campaign finance reports.  I think he has three times the amount of money from PAC donors than he does individual donors," said Katrina Christiansen.

Christiansen is an assistant professor at the University of Jamestown.  She specializes in agricultural engineering and bio-renewable resource and technology.  She is originally from Nebraska. Christiansen says she wants to be "an advocate for all North Dakotans".  Republican State Representative Rick Becker is also challenging Hoeven.
