(Fargo, ND) -- Fargo and West Fargo schools are changing how masking is managed within their school districts.

Both school districts are no longer requiring masks to be worn on school busses. The change comes from new rulings that came down from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The change from the CDC no longer forces buses or vans to require masking, including early care, education, and childcare programs. .

"Therefore, effective immediately, masks are no longer required to be worn on school and activity buses for Fargo Public Schools," the school district said in a press release.

West Fargo Schools have also removed mask requirements as a COVID-19 mitigation strategy. The school board voted unanimously to change the policy, removing the option of requiring masks as an option as a prevention method used against COVID-19 in district buildings. Other policies are still in place, like distance learning, in case a surge of cases hits the region again.
