(Fargo, ND) -- The Fargo Fire Department wants to remind city residents to check and replace batteries in their lifesaving devices like smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

The message comes just ahead of Daylight Savings Time, which the department says is intentional. Fargo Fire says residents should check their detectors and alarms every six months, which happens to coincide with both Daylight Savings Time and Fall to Standard Time.

Daylight Savings Time officially happens on March 13th at 2 a.m..
