(Fargo, ND) -- A big donation was made Wednesday to the Great Plains Food Bank in Fargo.

"It's the Giving Cow milk and it's actually specially made for food banks," said Great Plains Food Bank CEO Melissa Sobolik.

The Cass-Clay Creamery of Fargo and the NDSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee teamed up to donate nearly 25 thousand cartons of shelf-stable milk and other food items to the food bank. Milk remains one of the most requested items from its network of food pantries. The student athlete group from NDSU donated food items they collected as part of the #SummitFoodFight.

Now in its 39th year, the Great Plains Food Bank serves as North Dakota’s only food bank. Its partner network includes 213 food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, and other charitable feeding programs operating in 99 communities across North Dakota and Clay County Minnesota.
