(Hillsboro, ND) -- A Grand Forks woman is facing charges after leading law enforcement on a chase before crashing multiple times.

Authorities say a Trail County Sheriff's Deputy stopped a male driver and was conducting a DUI investigation when Aneesa Villarreal-Brusegaard got out of the passenger seat and drove off in the vehicle. The 22-year-old lost control of the vehicle she was driving heading into Hillsboro and struck the corner of a house, then several trees, before crashing into another house. The car caught fire, but she was pulled from the vehicle while the property owner extinguished the blaze.

Villarreal-Brusegaard was flown to the hospital with severe injuries and the crash is under investigation.
