(Moorhead, MN) -- Trollwood Performing Art School's summer production of "Singin' in the Rain" has been postponed.

The performing arts school cites labor shortages as the reason for postponement. "Of that 40 people traditionally that it takes, we have 20 of them in place at this time," said Executive Director Kathy Anderson, "We are stilling the side effects of the pandemic. We found ourselves in a very sad and unfortunate situation."

Director Anderson says supply shortages are also taking a toll on production costs. "Everything is coming twice as expensive as it was last year, which is twice as expensive as it was the last time we had done the show - back in 2019."

Anderson says the performance will be delayed until 2023. Those chosen for this year's roles will have the opportunity to return to their roles in next year's production. All other performances and programs, kindergarten through high school, will "proceed as planned" for the summer season.
