Moorhead Patrol Sergeant seeking District Four State Senate seat

(Moorhead, MN) -- Another candidate has announced he will seek the Republican endorsement for the newly drawn Minnesota State Senate District Four seat.

Joe Brannan, a member of the Moorhead Police Department and political newcomer, is now in the race.

“I’m excited to announce my campaign for State Senate today,” Brannan said in a statement released to WDAY Radio. “Politics is a new venture, but public service and being an advocate for our community is a role I’ve had for many years. Community partnership is something I have developed throughout my career, and I am looking forward to bringing that knowledge and experience to the campaign. Most importantly, I plan to listen and learn what ideas will best serve Senate District 4 in St. Paul.”

Brannan is a respected law enforcement officer currently serving his community as a Patrol Sergeant. In his over 13 years of public service, he has been entrusted as a field training officer, instructor of both firearms and scenario-based training, K-9 Officer and union steward. He graduated from Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College and is currently continuing his education at Metropolitan State University. Brannan is married to his wife Katie and they have three children.He has lived in Moorhead since 2008.

The new boundaries of Senate District 4 includes parts of Clay and Becker counties.
