(Grand Forks, ND) -- A Grand Forks Police Officer was involved in a vehicle crash Tuesday evening responding to a theft in progress call in the city.

Authorities say the officer got a call about the theft at The Rock Bottle Shop a little before 8 p.m. and was responding with a ride along participant in his cruiser when it collided with a Mustang near the intersection of Gateway Drive and North Columbia Road.

Both the Officer and their ride along participant, as well as the driver of the mustang and its passenger were all taken via ambulance to Altru Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

A cause for the crash and potential charges are still under investigation.

There has been no update on the theft and a potential arrest from it. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Grand Forks Police as soon as possible.
