West Fargo High teacher receives distinguished educator award

(West Fargo, ND) -- West Fargo High School educator Michelle Strand is one of fifteen science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) teachers across the United States to receive the 2022-2023 Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow.

Strand is the first North Dakota educator to receive the award in its 32-years of existence. She and and other Fellows from K-12 schools across the country are headed to Washington D.C., who spend 11-months serving in a federal agency or U.S congressional office to guide federal STEM education efforts. 

Fellows like Strand will work with The U.S Department of Energy, The Library of Congress, The U.S Department of Defense, the U.S Geological Survey, the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
