Update: Fargo Police arrest Downtown shooting suspect

Update (1:21 p.m) -- After several hours of searching, the Fargo Police Department has arrested the man responsible for shooting two people early Sunday morning.

Authorities say 21-year-old Angel J. Milete turned himself into Fargo Police at 1:21 p.m.

Milete, a Fargo native, was arrested without incident in an apartment in South Fargo for aggravated assault with a firearm.

“I want to commend the excellent and collaborative work of our police officers, investigators, detectives and partners in law enforcement which culminated in bringing this dangerous criminal into custody," said Police Chief Dave Zibolski in a statement released to WDAY Radio. "The FPD expresses its appreciation to the Metro Street Crimes Unit and High Plains Fugitive Task Force for assisting with the apprehension of Milete.”

A motive for the shooting has still not yet been determine.

(Fargo, ND) -- The Fargo Police Department is searching for a man who shot multiple people in the Downtown area early Sunday morning.

Authorities say that at approximately 1 a.m, officers responded to a call for service at the intersection of 2nd Ave. N. and Broadway near the Fargo VFW for reports of gunshots fired. Multiple gunshots were fired by a suspect who fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers.

Two victims were transported to a local healthcare facility for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Fargo Police now tell WDAY Radio they are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the suspect in this incident, Angel J. Milete. Milete, a 21-year-old male from Fargo, was last wearing black pants and a black t-shirt.

"Milete should be considered armed and dangerous," said the Department in a released statement to WDAY Radio. "Members of the public are asked to refrain from approaching or attempting to apprehend him. If a member of the public locates Milete, they are asked to call 9-1-1 immediately to relay relevant information with accurate details such as the location Milete was last seen, the type of the vehicle he was driving, the last known direction of travel, descriptions of the clothing he was wearing and information about anyone who may have been accompanying Milete."

It is unclear at this time what led to the gunfire.
