North Dakota Tourism Director promotes in-state road trips as gas prices continue climbing

(Fargo, ND) -- With gas prices continuing to climb the state tourism agency is encouraging North Dakotans to take road trips closer to home.

"Even though gas prices are high, or higher than anyone of us would like them to be, we can still balance that with a lot of great and reasonable attractions and activities here in North Dakota," said Sara Otte Coleman, the Director of Tourism and Marketing for the State of North Dakota.

She says her agency has put together several road trip plans for in-state travel. Plans include the "Border to Border" Highway 281 Tour and the Interstate 29 Tour. The interstate 29 Tour includes stops at Icelandic State Park and the Pembina State Museum. Suggested road trips and other information on attractions statewide can be found online using the link below. Other current marketing efforts aimed at promoting the state include current coverage in the magazines "Midwest Living" and "Travel and Leisure".
