(Fargo, ND) -- A Fargo woman has suffered serious, life-threatening injuries after a motorcycle crash Sunday evening.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says that at 7:50 p.m. they were called to the area of the South University Drive exit ramp off I-94 for the crash.

Troopers say two motorcycles were riding when the driver of the first, a 21-year-old Fargo woman, lost control and laid her bike on its side. She was thrown from the motorcycle, and into the path of the second motorcyclist, 21-year-old Elijah Fields. Fields struck the first rider, then also laid his own bike on its side. The first rider was transported to an area hospital, while Fields was uninjured.

The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol and Fargo Police Department. Both riders were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
