(Fargo, ND) -- The woman who was involved in a motorcycle crash off South University Drive Sunday evening has died.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol, in an update shared with WDAY Radio, has announced that 21-year-old Tessa Holt has passed away from her injuries suffered during the crash that happened just before 7:50 p.m. Sunday.

Troopers say Holt and 21-year-old Elijah Fields were riding in wet conditions on the roadway when Holt laid her motorcycle down on the pavement, leading to Fields crashing into her. Holt was taken to an area for critical injuries, which she was not able to recover from. Fields was unhurt.

This is not the first time in recent memory Fields had been involved with a crash. Three months ago, he was involved in another motorcycle crash on 45th Street South in which Fields was hit from behind by a car and dragged for a distance, suffering serious injuries. Fields received two citations, while the driver of the car was also charged. The two had been part of a group that met up at a convenience store prior to the crash.
